What is BLOCS?

BLOCS is your online gateway to unlimited membership services, AKA the Blowdry Club. It’s developed and hosted by us the BLOCS team and managed by your service provider (salon) of choice.

Using BLOCS you can access your online booking system, to organise, book and request appointments with the service provider, message them and communicate with other members of the club.

What’s in this BLOCS manual?

This manual contains all the technical information you will need to Create, Setup and use a BLOCS membership account. If there is something you cannot find in BLOCS or if you are unsure how to accomplish a task then the manual is the right place for you.

Tasks such as:

Setting up your account.
Booking or Cancelling appointments.
Using Instant messaging.
Purchasing Gift Voucher.

Can all be found in this manual.

2. Find A Club

Registering with a membership near you through BLOCS is easy and free.

To find a membership nearby in order to join or purchase gift vouchers for future membership you can:

Visit salonblocs.com/app and, after logging your details with blocs, locating your chosen business.
Visit salonblocs.com/joinourclub and locating your chosen business.
Directly visit the unique web address given to you by the business i.e. salonblocs.com/app/[businessname]

(Business Name & Details) – indicates the business and location of which you are planning to join the membership.

Team – indicates the members of the business that facilitate the memberships club services.

Terms and Conditions – the membership rules set out by the business which, any members, must abide by.

Sign Up as Member – agree to the terms and conditions and join the businesses membership (payment is not required until you are ready to book)

Registering with a club is completely free, and allows you to check avilability before subscribing to their club.

3. Member Registration

Anyone can easily join a BLOCS membership as a “registered” member free of charge.

As a “Registered Member” members can view the diary availability and message the business directly.

Only once a “Registered Member” subscribes and pays their first months subscription fee do they become a “Subscribed Member” and are then able to book appointments.

To sign up as a registered member:

Locate the club you wish to join; direct via the salons unique web address, or via the “Join Our Club” of “Find A Club” extensions or simply by visiting salonblocs.com/app.
Once correct club is located, click the clubs, name, logo, or “Sign up as Member” button.
Carefully read their terms and conditions.
Tick the box to agree to terms.
Click “Sign Up As Member”

Your Account is now created, using the same login details you can now login.

4. Console Login

BLOCS is comprised of just eight sections, accessed through a single login form at www.SalonBLOCS.com/app

Both Business users and their members login through this same form, however when directing your clients for registration we advise using www.salonblocs.com/app/[yourbusiness]

This unique address is called the “Alias” and is auto-generated from your business name after sign up. It can be changed in your PROFILE page after login.

The original email address and password, set when signing up, are used to login to the console. If forgotten, the password can be reset.

Login can also be achieved through the single click facebook button (no password needed) if the original email address used to sign up and that which is registered with facebook are the same.

5. Dashboard

BLOCS Members Dashboard screen is where you will find your monthly activity in brief, your membership terms and conditions and a list of Upcoming and Cancelled appointments.

The Calendar allows you to see an overview of free blocks (pink), blocks booked by other members (blue) and yourself (orange) in a monthly, weekly or daily view.

Upcoming Appointments – These are your booked appointments in ascending date order. Clicking an upcoming appointment takes you to a further screen where notes may be added, the booking can be amended or cancelled.

Cancelled Appointments – These are your cancelled appointments in descending date order.

Blocks Open – indicate the time and date of an open space which has been made available for you to book

Other Members (Booked) – the number of Blocks already allocated to other members on a given time and date.

Week view – view the calendar in a week by week view with more detail provided for each slot and appointment.

Day view – view the calendar in a single day view displaying your teams columns.

6. Profile

The Profile section allows you to create a public representation of yourself, including photo, contact details, address and social media channels.

The business to which you are a member has access to this page, to use for contacting you regarding appointments.

Also found on this page are your connected Payment Info, Voucher activation field, and subscription plan details.

⇫ – upload an image of your self. This will be displayed as an avatar to associate messages and bookings.

Name – enter your name.

Email – this is your direct contact email address but also your username for login. This can be changed at any time.

Phone – please include dial code.

Address – please include postcode.

Social Media – copy and paste your FB, TW, YT, and IG page web address.

Subscription Plan – connect an existing or new STRIPE account for taking payment of monthly subscription plan.

Monthly Subscription Price – set the amount each member will pay per month for their membership.

Terms and Conditions – link to your membership T&Cs (default BLOCS T&C’s if none entered) .

Vouchers – voucher codes which have been purchased and used or unused.

7. Start/Cancel A Membership

Anyone can easily join a BLOCS membership as a “registered” member free of charge, before subscribing.

Only once a “Registered Member” subscribes and pays their first months subscription fee do they become a “Subscribed Member” and are then able to book appointments.

To Subscribe to the membership:

Navigate to “Profile” page.
At the bottom of the page locate “Payment Info”
Enter Card details.
Click “Add Card Details”
Under “Start/Stop Subscription” confirm your subscription and monthly fee.

You will now be able to book appointments. Your membership will renew automatically unless cancelled, the same day each following month.

To UNsubscribe from the membership:

Navigate to “Profile” page.
At the bottom of the page locate “Start/Stop Subscription”.
Click "Cancel auto subscription after voucher expiry".
Click “Add Card Details”
Your membership will continue as usual until the next renewal date; at which time you will no longer be able to book appaointments unless you resubscribe.

8. Booking Appointments

Booking an appointment through BLOCS is easy. Members may only book “Open” blocks, these are pre-approved dates and times which the business has made available for members to book.

The number of Open blocks can be viewed by any member before subscribing to a monthly fee, by simply creating a BLOCS account.

Once Subscribed members can book an appointment by:

Log into BLOCS via www.salonblocs.com/app
Navigate either to the Dashboard or Calendar.
Locate a day which reads “X Open blocks” (highlighted in Pink)
In the Day View locate the open block nearest to the time which suits you.
Click the “X Block Open (Click to Book)”
Add any note you wish to and click “Confirm Booking” in pop up window.
Booking will change to Orange and read “Booked for you”

9. Booking a Double Appointment

BLOCS default membership settings allows for all members to bring a friend to an appointment, once per month, free of charge.

This will be automatically offered when booking an appointment within BLOCS if the following conditions apply:

Member has not yet used their one free instance of bring a friend, in that month.
Appointment being booked has another block open with 30 minutes of the beginning of the time (and date) of the block attempting to be booked.
The business to which the member is assigned allows the double booking feature.

In order to book a double booking/bring a friend:

Login to BLOCS at www.salonblocs.com/app
Within the dashboard or Calendar view locate an open block you would like to book.
Click the block.
In the pop up window (if all conditions above apply) you will be asked *Bring a Friend?.
Click the slider to activate.
You will then be given all options available to you (Same time/ After 15 min/ After 30 min)
Choose the most appropriate option, and click “Confirm Double Booking”

10. Booking an Extended Appointment

Booking an Extended appointment through BLOCS is easy. Members may only book “Open” blocks, these are pre-approved dates and times which the business has made available for members to book.

The number of Open blocks can be viewed by any member before subscribing to a monthly fee, by simply creating a BLOCS account. Once Subscribed members can book an appointment by:

Log into BLOCS via www.salonblocs.com/app
Navigate either to the Dashboard or Calendar.
Locate a day which reads “X Open blocks” (highlighted in Pink)
In the Day View locate the open (Extended) block nearest to the time which suits you.
Click the “X Block Open *extended (Click to Book)”
Confirm agreement to pay stated booking fee.
Add any note you wish to and click “Confirm Booking” in pop up window.

Booking will change to Orange and read “Booked for you”
